Free Healthy Recipe - Skin Tonic Frappe

The skin is the largest organ in the body, with cells replacing themselves every 27 days, and diet and lifestyle play a vital role in the appearance of the skin. For a healthy glow, with blemish free, smooth textured skin you need a kick-ass metabolism, and a well maintained system for the removal of toxins. It also needs a regular supply of antioxidants to defend against free radical attack. In this juice we use detoxifying beetroot, to improve liver and kidney function, carrots reputed to ease psoriasis, dry skin, blemishes and boost the metabolism, berries for their abundant antioxidants and flaxseed oil to nourish and improve the skin's texture.

Ingredients
1 bulb beetroot
1 4cm piece ginger
1 350 gram packet frozen mixed berries, partially defrosted
2 tbsp flaxseed oil

Method

Peel the beetroot and carrots and put through the juicer with the fresh ginger.

Add the berries to a blender and process until smooth.
Stir through the juice and flax seed oil and serve.

Note: Excess consumption of sugar may cause cross linking of collagen in the skin, resulting in wrinkles.
